Marc Emert-Hutner has been with ASCAP for twelve years, having spent his first four years in Membership’s Film & TV Department in Los Angeles. He has been in the Pop/Rock Department in New York for the last eight years, previously holding the position of Senior Director, Pop/Rock. . He created the highly successful ASCAP Night School series in New York, bringing together top-level music industry professionals to teach various aspects of the business to songwriters and artists. Further, he is an integral part of organizing and executing ASCAP’s yearly songwriter retreat in France, as well as being on the ASCAP “I Create Music” EXPO committee. Emert-Hutner began his career in 1988 as a songwriter, musician, performer and producer, touring extensively with bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fig
