Art Dir/Set Decorator
Jeanette Scott has worked in film as a set decorator and art director for the past twenty years. Her most recent release was 2011’s Oscar nominated Tree of Life. After college, Jeanette spent a few years "knocking around the globe" before landing in Mexico & attending art school. Upon returning to Texas, she settled into the world of film and felt she had found her home. She was attracted to the art department by the opportunity to be creative in a collaborative medium with ever changing challenges. She has since traveled extensively with her work- from Maine to Puerto Rico, from the Midwest to the east coast. Her favorite experience was decorating Mississippi Masala, the first film to shoot in Uganda since 1951 when Bogart was there to film The African Queen. She worked on several films with Robert Rodriguez, including Sin City, for which she won the San Diego film critics award for art direction. Jeanette's personal interests are art/design, languages, and travel. In addition to her film work, Ms. Scott has volunteered for several non-profits in the community and serves on the boards of the Austin Film Society the Texas Motion Picture Alliance. She lives with her husband, daughter, alley cat and a rescued miniature dachshund.
