Anna Webber is a photographer best known for her musician portrait photography, in addition to being the first national ambassador for the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSSA). Her portrait work appears on album covers and PR photos for such musicians as Willie Nelson, Beck & Philip Glass, Gotye, Jim James, Deer Tick, Gov't Mule, and in publications like Rolling Stone, Spin, NME, Pitchfork, Billboard, and she has created publicity and album cover photography for Sony, EMI, Rounder, and numerous other record labels. Anna graduated from Pepperdine University with a double major in Creative Writing/Communications and Business, while spending her spare time mastering the analog darkroom with British rock photographer Jill Furmanovsky (of National Portrait Gallery and Rock Archive fame) in Florence, Italy, subsequently mastering the digital darkroom and studio lighting techniques in the James Hickey Fashion Studio at home in Los Angeles, CA. Photographer Baron Wolman, world renowned as Rolling Stone Magazine’s 1st chief photographer, found Anna when she was 18; Baron has remained Anna’s mentor, friend, and close confidant. Now a leading industry photographer herself, Anna often appears on photography panels, galleries and showcases at SXSW, United Photo Industries in NY, Seattle, San Francisco and Nashville, sharing the mic with such industry leaders like Baron Wolman, Bob Gruen, John Varvatos, BP Fallon, Julie Grahame. Anna currently lives part-time in New York and Los Angeles, shooting independently and syndicating through various outlets like Rock Paper Photo, gettyimages, and Corbis. Elizabeth’s Canvas, a 501.c.3 is a national organization that teaches cancer patients and survivors art classes, asked Anna to teach their first photography class in NYC, a class she designed and is currently preparing to teach called “The Disposable Self-Portrait.” www.annawebber.com
