Sonnymoon
    Wednesday March 14, 2012 8:00pm - 8:50pm @ Speakeasy Kabaret (412 Congress Ave)

Once upon no time, countless light-years from Earth, the cosmos revealed the moment had come to take action. Sonnymoon, a mystical, nurturing, peaceful planet, found itself on a collision course with Earth, whose inhabitants had a dubious history of preaching peace yet living lives of war. History had once before shown that when worlds collide, the trauma of such a collision is forceful enough to cause a massive rip in the time/space continuum, throwing all things as we know it into uncharted territory. One effect of this rip is the potential for chaos, mayhem, and complete destruction. But, as fate would have it, Sonnymoon had written it quite differently.
As known on Sonnymoon, the people of Earth are able to vibrationally align with Sonnymoon through gradual contact. That which no longer serves the people will fall away, creating the Golden Age of being. This communion of vibrational frequency results in a vastly expanded collective consciousness. It is most easily achieved through the creation and sharing of music.
So as all planets do, Sonnymoon created the perfect beings to self-fulfill the prophecy. From the deepest depths of the sea they called forth an energy entity to be called Anna, comprised of feminine aspects: wisdom, water, land, emotion, passion, moonlight. From the core of the sun they called forth a polar energy to be named Dane, comprised of the masculine: intelligence, fire, wind, cognition, sunlight. Together they formed the perfect celestial balance of non-duality –embodying Sonnymoon itself.
Anna and Dane soon set forth as journeymen, ambassadors of their world, and were given but one mission – find allies and prepare Earth for the energies of the coming planet, thereby averting catastrophe.
Upon first landing on Earth, they noticed the void was vast and deep. This would be no simple task. Dane quickly found that the music Earth most often communicated via airwaves was not indicative of the wants (or needs) of the people. Meanwhile, Anna was challenged to make sense of foreign concepts such as ignorance, mediocrity, and perhaps worst of all, suburbia. But they pressed on, creating music that undoubtedly expanded the minds of all that that were ready. And in due time, Sonnymoon found a powerful ally with the team at Plug Research.
Sonnymoon is part of the fertile ground by which the new and innovative springs forth. They are an army of the audible, a musical militia manned by two. There is no time to prepare sufficiently for their coming– they have already arrived and the mass-scale invasion is imminent. For those receptive to their transmission – prepare for your world to change.
But fear not, Earthlings, they come in peace.

Bird Peterson
    Wednesday March 14, 2012 11:00pm - 11:50pm @ Speakeasy Kabaret (412 Congress Ave)
Bird Peterson, or Texas born Andrew "Old Shep" Hoke, is just what the doctor ordered. He prides himself as the Elegant Gentleman King of Hot Jams, and retains this title by his own doings. He's a scholar in the art of bass, a pundit of booty shaking, and an authority on what makes the youth of the nation bounce. Working through a mix of contemporary rhythm, low end madness, and classic freshness, Peterson can only be limited by the amount of speakers in a venue. His originals have made him known across the globe. His remixing of artists like Three 6 Mafia, MSTRKRFT, Tiesto, The Wu-Tang Clan, Robin Thicke, Ocelot, Felix Cartal, Gucci Mane, Wale, and soooo many others have set the planet's ears aflame. He's shared the stage with such greats as MSTRKRFT, Diplo, Tiesto, DJ AM, Craze, The Bloody Beetroots, Rusko, Chase & Status, and soooo many others. He's a proud member of the acclaimed Undocumented Mgmt family and reins as art director for Teenage Riot Records. He's a publicly proclaimed "Wizard Of The Dance Scene" and it shows! Ladies and Gentlemen, use all the contraception you can, because Mr. Peterson came to spread his hot noise all over the crowds. BOOM!

Filastine
    Thursday March 15, 2012 12:00am - 12:50am @ Speakeasy Kabaret (412 Congress Ave)
Grey Filastine is an audio-visual artist born in Los Angeles, based in Barcelona, and often nomadic. He composes a dense transnational bass music that collides the lowest frequencies of dubstep with the highest-level beat science, acoustic strings, voices, and gathered street noises. The results are “Awesome and delicate… hybrids so fluent they defy classification.” -Pitchfork
Filastine’s debut record, Burn It , was released in 2006 by DJ Rupture to much critical acclaim: “Filled with both with jagged edges and moments of sad sweetness ... Burn It is sure to win fans across multiple scenes”- XLR8R. The album ricocheted around the world, licensed and re-released by labels in France, Japan, and the US. The follow up album, Dirty Bomb, dropped in 2009 through an alliance of labels led by French electro-dub imprint Jarring Effects. Prefix Mag called it “the prototype of globalized urban sound... It will devastate your subwoofer.”
Performing up to a hundred concerts per year, Filastine triggers live riddims and synchronized video from a heap of electronics wired to an amplified shopping cart. You may have seen him at a sweaty Tokyo nightclub, a football stadium in Casablanca, a respected euro-fest like Sónar, in a parking lot in Borneo, or touring the US with Bassnectar.
Before making electronic music Filastine played with the Infernal Noise Brigade, a marching band he founded for the Battle of Seattle. He continues to use audio as a tool of intervention with the Sound Swarm, an orchestra of bikemounted megaphones conducted by pirate radios transmitters.
Spring of 2012 will see the release of a new album made in tighter collaboration with Javanese vocalist Nova Ruth and Lyon-based cellist Amélie Bouard. Expect to find Filastine anywhere, crashing borders and transforming friction into beauty.

I have a huge interest for all things related to music. So much in fact, that through it I discovered my passion for other fields, and eventually led me to pursue a TV and radio dj career.
At an early age, I began my musical training in piano, I took up musical courses from the Berklee College of Music; I got Certified as a Pro Tools Operator in Music being of the first Mexicans in doing it.
At the end of the 90's I began my contact with electronic music while I lived in Los Angeles, where I founded Common Time Records and Lemon Bros Media. With this I begun the inevitable consequence of taking a journey into audio visual arts.

Blackburner
    Thursday March 15, 2012 11:20pm - 12:10am @ Speakeasy Kabaret (412 Congress Ave)
Cleopatra Records electrorock/dubsteb artist Blackburner has just been tapped to support MINISTRY on its summer 2012 national tour.
Blackburner is a bold new force in electronic music, combining the heavily twisted and seriously aggressive beats of dubstep and glitch with the melodic hooks of rock, industrial, and electronica. It is masterminded by producer/musician Skyla Talon, a Michigan-born Los Angeles transplant who cut his teeth with the modern metal band Killingbird and later joined Scum Of The Earth with former Rob Zombie axeman Riggs. Inspired by the revolutionary new sounds in electronic music generated by the likes of fellow metal-head-turned-DJ Skrillex, Talon began the Blackburner project remixing tracks and releasing original compositions through the Cleopatra imprint Hypnotic Records.
The project immediately met with enormous success, as compilations featuring Blackburner climbed the iTunes Electronic charts, racking up over 50,000 individual downloads. Now joined by former Chicago-based metal musician K Kyle (who also performs in hard rock band ModelSaint with Talon), Blackburner is preparing to release a full-length record in April 2012. FEEL THE BURN will feature guest appearances by Edgar Froese of electronic pioneer Tangerine Dream as well as John Wesley of Porcupine Tree.

Cassettes Won't Listen
    Friday March 16, 2012 10:00pm - 10:40pm @ Speakeasy Kabaret (412 Congress Ave)
Cassettes Won't Listen is the brainchild of Los Angeles-based, multi-instrumentalist and producer Jason Drake. A partner and previous director of marketing for famed indie hip-hop record label, Definitive Jux, Jason relocated from Brooklyn to Los Angeles in 2009 to record his latest solo record, KEVINSPACEY. A follow up to his 2008 release, Small-Time Machine, CWL's newest project is a synth/sample-driven record showcasing Jason's contemplative and melodic vocals while experimenting with dark and otherworldly themes of travel, distance and despondency. Three years in the making, the title is a nod to his newly adopted hometown, his fascination with exploration, observations of broken hope within the city, and of course, those who sit on top.

Party Supplies
    Saturday March 17, 2012 1:00am - 1:50am @ Speakeasy Kabaret (412 Congress Ave)
Party Supplies is the stage name of Justin Nealis, a Queens-born producer and literal one man band whose handmade MPC symphonies and heartfelt stage presence blend hip-hop energy with anthemic indie hooks. His homegrown remixes for Arcade Fire and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros turn festival favorites into cut and paste epics, and his production work for the likes of Action Bronson and Das Racist prove his boom-bap bonafides. Yet on original tracks like "Workin Out" and "Going Hard Forever" (from his forthcoming debut LP on Fool's Gold), both sides of Party Supplies combine for yearning singalongs over propulsive live drum machine beats. It's a show that must be seen to be believed, and has made fans-for-life out of the thousands who have already caught PS in action at Fool's Gold parties all year long. This is classic rock from the future, don't get left behind...
