Last Call at the Oasis
    Saturday March 10, 2012 5:00pm - 6:40pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)

Developed, financed and executive produced by Participant Media, the company responsible for "An Inconvenient Truth", "Food, Inc.", and "Waiting for Superman", "Last Call at the Oasis" presents a powerful argument for why the global water crisis will be the central issue facing our world this century. Illuminating the vital role water plays in our lives, exposing the defects in the current system and depicting communities already struggling with its ill-effects, the film features activist Erin Brockovich and such distinguished experts as Peter Gleick, Alex Prud’homme, Jay Famiglietti and Robert Glennon. *Presented in conjunction with SXSW Eco*

The Babymakers
    Saturday March 10, 2012 7:30pm - 9:03pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)

After trying everything to get his wife Audrey (Olivia Munn) pregnant, Tommy Macklin (Paul Schneider) realizes to his horror that he may be “shooting blanks.” Terrified that his marriage may fall apart, Tommy recruits his friends (and an Indian ex-mobster) to rob a sperm bank where he made a deposit years ago. As with any half-baked scheme, everything can and does go wrong, testing the limits of Tommy and Audrey’s relationship. THE BABYMAKERS is a hilarious twist on the heist film genre, a laugh-out loud comedy showing how far one couple will go in hopes of creating a new life.

As Troy’s relationship with Marcus grows, Troy's father becomes increasingly concerned about his son's new friendship. Jake Wysocki (TERRI), Matt O'Leary (NATURAL SELECTION) and Billy Campbell (THE KILLING) star in Matthew Lillard's directorial debut based on the novel by K. L. Going and produced by Whitewater Films.

In "Chasing Ice", Balog deploys revolutionary time-lapse cameras to capture a multi-year record of the world's changing glaciers. Traveling with a team across the brutal Arctic, Balog risks his career and his well-being in pursuit of the biggest story facing humanity. KID-THING
    Sunday March 11, 2012 7:00pm - 8:23pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)
Annie is a rebellious ten-year-old girl. She lives on the outskirts of town with her father Marvin, who, when not herding goats, mostly sleeps the day away. Virtually devoid of parental guidance, Annie is left to fend for herself and do as she pleases. With no moral compass, she roams the neighboring lands, shoplifting and engaging in general destructive behavior. Her routine is broken one day while playing in the woods; she hears an old woman calling from deep within an abandoned well, asking for help. Scared and untrusting of the unseen stranger, Annie deliberates on her course of action.

Waiting For Lightning
    Sunday March 11, 2012 9:45pm - 11:12pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)

From the producers of "Step Into Liquid", comes "Waiting For Lightning", the story of Danny Way, a young boy from a broken home in Vista, CA, whose passion for skateboarding would one day bring him and his creation, a ramp of prodigious and dangerous proportions, across many cultural and ideological boundaries to attempt the impossible: jump China’s Great Wall on a skateboard. It’s a film about how much abuse the body can sustain, how deep you have to dig to survive the betrayals of family, and how high and far dreams can fly.

La Camioneta - The Journey of One American School Bus
    Tuesday March 13, 2012 5:00pm - 6:11pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)

Every day dozens of decommissioned school buses migrate from the United States to Guatemala, where they are repaired, repainted, and resurrected as the brightly-colored camionetas that bring people to work each day. Since 2006, nearly 1,000 camioneta drivers and fare-collectors have been killed for not paying the extortion money demanded by local gangs. "La Camioneta" follows the migration of one bus as a vehicle into the stories of five men whose lives become intertwined with its resurrection. Like the bus that unites their stories, the choice between obsolescence and innovation defines their decisions, propelling them toward an increasingly uncertain future.

Hunky Dory
    Tuesday March 13, 2012 7:15pm - 9:04pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)

In the summer of 1976, keen drama teacher Vivienne fights sweltering heat and general teenage apathy to put on an end of year music version of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. To engage her students, she uses hits of the time, which will be performed by a fresh young cast. What emerges is a funny and tender tale reflecting the high school experience itself in which the kids’ voices add a particular poignancy and beauty to some familiar classic tunes, making the film a nostalgia trip for the older audience members and a fresh introduction to some classic pop to the younger cinema goers.

The Comedy
    Wednesday March 14, 2012 7:45pm - 9:17pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)
Indifferent even to the prospects of inheriting his father's estate, Swanson (Tim Heidecker) whiles away his days with a group of aging Brooklyn hipsters, engaging in acts of recreational cruelty and pacified boredom. Desensitized and disenchanted, he strays into a series of reckless situations that may offer the promise of redemption or the threat of retribution. A scathing look at the white male on the verge of collapse, Rick Alverson's carefully observed portrait provokes and disorients; a cautionary fable for the autumn of the American Era.

Indie Game: The Movie
    Thursday March 15, 2012 5:00pm - 6:36pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)

With the twenty-first century comes a new breed of artist: the indie game designer. These innovators design and program their distinctly personal games in the hope that they may find connection and success. After years of work, designer Edmund McMillen and programmer Tommy Refenes work toward the release of their first major game for Xbox, Super Meat Boy. At a big video-game expo, developer Phil Fish unveils his highly anticipated, FEZ. Designer Jonathan Blow considers a new game after his very successful game, Braid. Four developers, three games, one ultimate goal— to express oneself through a video game.

Girl Walk // All Day
    Thursday March 15, 2012 9:30pm - 10:45pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)

Girl Walk // All Day is a feature-length dance music video and tale of urban exploration that follow three dancers across New York City. They turn the city's sidewalks, parks, and stadiums into an evolving stage as a story of rebellion, love, and discovery unfolds. Shot entirely in public spaces, and funded entirely by crowd-sourcing, Girl Walk // All Day is a statement about the power of community and public space. Set to the album All Day by mashup musician Girl Talk, it's also an insanely fun love letter to New York.

    Saturday March 17, 2012 7:00pm - 8:33pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)

After a long absence, gangster and father Ulysses Pick (Jason Patric) arrives home to a house haunted with memories, towing the body of a teenaged girl and a bound and gagged young man. His gang waits inside his house, having shot their way past police. There is friction in the ranks. Ulysses, however, is focused on one thing: journeying through the house, room by room, and reaching his wife Hyacinth (Isabella Rossellini) in her bedroom upstairs. The equilibrium of the house has been disturbed and his odyssey eventually becomes an emotional tour, as the ghostly nooks and crannies of the house reveal more about the mysterious Pick family.

Bad Brains: Band in DC
    Saturday March 17, 2012 9:30pm - 11:15pm @ SXSatellite: Alamo Village (2700 W Anderson Ln)
Bad Brains are one of the most important and influential American bands still working today. They melded punk and reggae into an innovative style that has yet to be copied. Their impact and influence can be heard in groups like Beastie Boys, No Doubt, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction and countless more. Despite the troubles of an eccentric front man they have stayed together for 30 years without ever reaching the level of success so many think they deserve. Using rare archival footage and original comic illustrations the film re-constructs Bad Brains' rich and complicated history.
