The Solid Verbal Live Podcast
    Saturday March 10, 2012 12:30pm - 1:30pm @ Driskill Hotel (Maximilian) (604 Brazos Street, Austin, TX 78701)

Four years ago, The Solid Verbal was a little-known, low-rent college football podcast started by two guys in different states who had never met. Now, after an incredible journey, hosts Ty Hildenbrandt and Dan Rubenstein find themselves at the epicenter of the sport’s online universe, covering national championships, landing spots on satellite radio and ESPN’s Grantland Network, and earning a cameo in the New York Times. How did they do it? Stop by for the full story. (And stay for the college football.)Fledgling bloggers, corporate brand managers, and agency content strategists can learn from these experiences in building a strong content brand, developing a differentiated voice, and creating a dedicated community in the age of participation. Meanwhile, fans can swing by for a candid discussion about all the latest musings in the world of college football within the comfy confines of a town that knows a thing or two about the game.

The Basketball Jones Live Podcast
    Saturday March 10, 2012 3:30pm - 4:30pm @ Driskill Hotel (Maximilian) (604 Brazos Street, Austin, TX 78701)
Today, The Basketball Jones is a daily NBA podcast, award-winning blog, and television show. Five years ago, it was a money-losing passion project recorded in a kitchen. The story of what happened in between is partly about five friends figuring out how to get paid for a show they loved doing. But it's also about how that show grew up with a league that exploited social media and digital content more than any other sport in North America. Many lessons can be learned from the peculiar rise of The Basketball Jones and the NBA's approach to the new media. Exactly what those lessons are? Come by and hear us talk it out. We want to be as surprised as you are.

This Spartan Life: Frag Me Gently
    Monday March 12, 2012 12:30pm - 1:30pm @ Driskill Hotel (Maximilian) (604 Brazos Street, Austin, TX 78701)
Acclaimed “talk show in game space” This Spartan Life will conduct live interviews “under fire” in the videogame Halo, projected on the screen before the audience. Dodging virtual bullets in the mixed reality of SXSW & Halo, This Spartan Life’s creator & producer, Chris Burke & Josephine Dorado, along with Paul Marino, Lead Cinematic Designer at BioWare, will present ideas on extending game culture, filmmaking, DIY media & the importance of play. They’ll do their best to keep their guests safe from plasma rifle-wielding aliens. How will they fare? See for yourself. Using Halo as its backdrop, the show began as an underground sensation and has since scored glowing reviews in Wired Magazine, the BBC, BusinessWeek & BoingBoing. Described by Wired Magazine as “a mash-up of The Charlie Rose Show & Doom,” TSL combines high-brow interviews with the likes of the late Sex Pistols manager, Malcolm McLaren & the rock band OK Go with the frag-fest of videogame culture. www.thisspartanlife.com

This Week in Digital Podcast
    Tuesday March 13, 2012 12:30pm - 1:30pm @ Driskill Hotel (Maximilian) (604 Brazos Street, Austin, TX 78701)
In 2015, analysts estimate worldwide sales of 3 million hybrid and electric cars and light trucks – and almost 100 million electric scooters and bikes. EVs represent more than just a different way to turn the wheels on the family car – they are a wholesale re-thinking of consumer mobility, introducing cars that have as much in common with your smartphone and your laptop as they do with the car in your garage right now. Questions are inevitable, of course. How should an electric car behave? How should manufacturers prepare consumers for the differences in owning, driving and maintaining it? What responsibilities should marketers and product managers take on to help this market take off? And will the EV “cool factor” taper off or continue to grow? Whatever the answers to these questions, it is clear that the electric vehicle will be a connected vehicle. And that mobile, social, and local technologies will be key to shaping vehicles as they move from prototype to production. Join Mike O’Toole, PJA President and host of PJA Radio, for a provocative discussion that gets to the heart of the probable and probes the limits of the possible. Mike will be joined by Robert Davis, PJA’s SVP for Digital Marketing and Matt Magee, VP of Digital Strategy, and guests from Ford, GM and other players out to “make the EV market” will share their opinions and insights as well.
